Enroute to the Gold Coast

Gateway Bridge 1Gateway Bridge 2
We had need to go to the gold coast where I grabbed those beach shots I posted recently, enroute I got Sally’s son to snap these shots for me. Image one shows how the original Gateway Bridge (On the right) has been duplicated with the one we are approaching to better handle the volume of traffic. So now we have six lanes each way feeding two lanes each way just North of the airport, do you wonder why I am reluctant to travel on the Gateway Motorway at Peak Hour?

  1. Looks quite deserted compared to some of Melbourne’s freeways, gotta love the angle of those light poles though! Where exactly is the golf? coast?

    • I fixed it so now your question looks silly LoL – Pick any Good NITS lately? Ha Ha

  2. Sometimes the road planners do leave one wondering what they are thinking. Our town build a four lane bridge over the river only to dead end at a enclosed mall built at approximately the same time as the bridge.

  3. Those light poles look a bit like the legs of an up-side-down spider :-) great capture though.

Doesn’t look like that would be a favorite place for me to drive either….I hate tons of traffic and those roads can definitely handle it!

  5. That one on the left is more than a little unsettling–it looks a bit like a cubist painting. Nothing quite seems to be straight or in the right place–off by just enough to make one leery.

  6. Looks like white knuckle traffic, ugh.
